Jamie Waller, CEO of JBW Group is getting ready to cycle more than 320 miles from London to Paris this summer to raise vital funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research.

The 33 year-old Chief Executive, will join a group of cyclists for the four-day charity ride in July (18-22). Waller will spend around eight hours a day in the saddle, travelling an average of 90 miles each day, and will arrive in the French capital the afternoon before the finale of the famous Tour de France bike race.

Mr Waller said: “I’m taking part in the London to Paris ride because my new year’s resolution was less personal this year than in the past. In 2012 I am aiming to raise £10,000 for Charity. I am starting with this 340 mile bike ride to support medical research for children with rare conditions. This is personal to me and others at JBW as a member of our team’s little boy is currently one of these children. It seems right to help when these things are so close to home.”

Cyclists participating in the London to Paris ride will be raising money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children.

Action Medical Research is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2012 and has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952. The charity is currently supporting work around meningitis, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, premature birth and some very rare conditions that severely affect children.
