The Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (IRRV) 2015 held its prestigious Performance Awards in Telford on the 7th October.
JBW Group was the winner in the category Excellence in Debt Management together with our partners Agilisys and Sandwell MBC . The award was made from a shortlist of three finalists, including SUMA debt management from Spain and Liverpool City Council.
Sandwell Council have partnered with JBW Group and Agilisys to collect aged Council Tax debt that they had previously earmarked for write off.
The collection model utilises data enrichment and debt segmentation to drive focused and innovative collection activity, identifying and targeting debtors who are more likely to pay.
JBW’s evidence-based propensity model analyses over forty behavioral and demographic criteria to determine the collectability of each debt. This analytical innovation has allowed JBW to out-perform other Enforcement Agents.
This project has already gained an additional £500,000 for Sandwell Council: an outstanding result given that this was poor-quality debt previously selected for write off by the Council.
David Graaff, Business Development Director at JBW said “we are very proud of the additional income we have delivered to Sandwell Council and very honored to have won this recognition.
Anthony Griffith of Sandwell Council said “Every pound collected is a pound we don’t have to find from frontline services. I’d call that a success by any definition”.
Gary L Watson the IRRV Performance Awards Co-ordinator, said “There was a clear demonstration of objectives and results together with highly effective use of customer data to achieve goals. As a result, they were worthy winners of the award.”
